Walker W. Fendley Charlottesville, Accident: Teen Passenger Killed After Vehicle Strikes Tree in Charlottesville Crash

The Charlottesville community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of 19-year-old Walker W. Fendley, who died following a tragic single-vehicle crash on May 14, 2026, in the 3100 block of Fontaine Avenue Extended in Albemarle County, Virginia.

According to the Albemarle County Police Department, the crash occurred at approximately 10:39 p.m. when a vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. Three occupants were inside the vehicle at the time of the crash, and one passenger was ejected upon impact. Emergency crews with Albemarle County Fire Rescue arrived quickly and immediately began life-saving measures for all three victims.

All occupants were transported to UVA Health in life-threatening condition. Despite medical efforts, Walker W. Fendley, who was the passenger ejected from the vehicle, later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

Family and friends are now left devastated by the sudden and tragic loss of a young life cut short. Loved ones are remembering Walker with deep sorrow, holding onto cherished memories as they struggle to process the heartbreaking news.

Authorities noted that speed is believed to be a contributing factor in the crash. The other occupants of the vehicle also sustained serious injuries and remain under medical care.

The Albemarle County Police Department’s Crash Reconstruction Team continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident. Officials said the case remains active and charges may be filed pending further review.
