Alfonzo Nance Charged With Reckless Murder After Mother’s Day Crash Killed Linda White in Dale County

A fatal single-vehicle crash in Dale County on Mother’s Day resulted in the death of Linda D. White, a 66-year-old resident of Geneva, Alabama, and led to criminal charges against the driver, Alfonzo L. Nance, according to law enforcement authorities.

The collision occurred at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Dale County Road 1 near Alabama Highway 92, roughly seven miles south of Enterprise. Investigators with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency stated that the vehicle, a Jeep Commander, left the roadway for reasons still under investigation before striking a utility pole.

White, who was reportedly a passenger in the vehicle, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene by emergency responders. Authorities confirmed that she was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. The driver, 38-year-old Alfonzo L. Nance, also sustained injuries and was transported to Medical Center Enterprise for medical treatment.

Following an investigation into the circumstances of the collision, law enforcement officials charged Nance with reckless murder in connection with White’s death. Authorities have not publicly released detailed information regarding the evidentiary basis for the charge, nor have they confirmed whether factors such as speed, impairment, or other conditions contributed to the crash.
