Kelly Hun Obituary Death News: Missing Anchorage19-Year-Old Kelly Hunt Found Deceased; Investigation Ongoing

The Anchorage community is mourning the tragic loss of 19-year-old Kelly Hunt, who was found dead outdoors in the city’s Mountain View area after being reported missing earlier this month.

Anchorage Police Department (APD) confirmed that officers responded at approximately 8:56 a.m. on April 20 to a report of a deceased person in the 3500 block of Lois Drive, where Hunt’s body was discovered outside.

Authorities said Hunt had recently arrived in Anchorage on January 6 and had been staying at a residence in the 3200 block of Oregon Drive. She was last seen leaving that home on the morning of January 7. She was reported missing to police on January 11, and detectives had been actively investigating her disappearance since that time.

Police confirmed that next-of-kin notifications have been completed. The State Medical Examiner will determine the official cause of death, and the investigation remains ongoing. At this time, authorities say no arrests have been made.

Anchorage Police Chief Sean Case acknowledged the loss in a statement, saying the case is being investigated with urgency and care while asking for patience from the public as detectives continue their work.

“We acknowledge the loss for family members and for the community,” Case said. “This case remains under investigation, and therefore, we are limited in what information we can share.”

Hunt’s family also released a heartfelt statement expressing gratitude to the community for the widespread support during the search efforts.

“The family would like to express our deepest thanks and gratitude to everyone who has taken part in the search efforts for our sister Kelly,” the statement read. “Your time, dedication, and compassion mean more than words can describe… thank you for standing with us, for not giving up, and for showing such care and love during this difficult time.”

As the investigation continues, Anchorage is left mourning a young life gone too soon, while family, friends, and community members hold onto memories of Kelly Hunt and the hope for answers in the days ahead.
