The Trent Hills community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of 14-year-old Colson Myers, who passed away following a tragic ATV rollover on April 22, 2026, in Northumberland County, Ontario.

According to the Ontario Provincial Police, emergency crews were called at approximately 4:15 p.m. to an off-road trail between Burnbrae Road East and Loucks Road after reports of a single-vehicle ATV rollover. Despite rapid response and emergency medical efforts, Colson Myers was transported to Campbellford Memorial Hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.

The trail remained closed for several hours as investigators with the OPP, including collision reconstruction teams, carefully examined the scene to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. The investigation remains ongoing.

In Trent Hills, the news has left an overwhelming sense of grief and disbelief. Family, friends, classmates, and neighbors are struggling to process the sudden loss of a young life taken far too soon.
