VALDOSTA, Ga. — The Valdosta community is mourning the tragic loss of 49-year-old Anetra R. Riley, who was killed Monday evening in an aggravated assault on White Water Road.

According to the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 9:46 p.m. on April 7 to the 4900 block of White Water Road after a report of a shooting. Investigators classified the incident as aggravated assault with a firearm. Authorities confirmed Riley was killed in the incident, and the suspect remains unknown.
Officials say the circumstances involved multiple vehicles, including a gray 2022 Honda Accord and a black 2011 Dodge Ram 3500. The suspect was reportedly driving a red 2017 Nissan Altima with Georgia tag SDS2484. The sheriff’s office noted the case is not being investigated as family violence and urged anyone with information to contact authorities to assist the investigation.
