HENRICO COUNTY, Va. — Authorities are investigating a fatal tractor-trailer crash that occurred early Sunday morning on Interstate 295 northbound near mile marker 26.1.

Emergency crews with Henrico Fire and EMS were dispatched to the scene around 5:05 a.m., where they found a tractor-trailer that had gone over an embankment and into a wooded area. The driver, Johnny Reamer, was heavily entrapped and was later pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash has caused lane closures along I-295 northbound, with the center lane, right lane, and right shoulder remaining blocked while recovery operations continue. Traffic backups of approximately 1.5 miles have been reported. Drivers are advised to use caution and consider alternate routes.
Recovery efforts involve Virginia State Police, VDOT, Orleans Co. Tree Service, and a heavy wrecker to safely remove the vehicle.
