The community of Mason is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Wayde Garrett Siebert, who tragically passed away on March 31, 2026, at the age of 26. Family, friends, and neighbors remember Wayde for his unwavering dedication to his loved ones, his love for machinery and motorsports, and the joy he brought to everyone around him.

Born on October 28, 1999, in Effingham, Wayde was the son of Darren Siebert and Laura (Niemeyer) Bannick. From an early age, he demonstrated a strong work ethic and a passion for life, qualities that defined him throughout his brief but impactful years. Wayde pursued a career as a machine operator for C & H Gravel in Greenup, IL, where colleagues recall him as a dedicated, hardworking, and dependable team member.
Beyond his professional life, Wayde had a deep love for derby cars, tractor pulls, and trucks. These hobbies reflected his determination, strength, and enthusiasm, as he enjoyed both participating in and observing the excitement of motorsports. Whether behind the wheel or cheering from the stands, Wayde found joy in the roar of engines and the sense of community that came with them.
Family was at the heart of Wayde’s life. Above all, he cherished being a father to his son, Oakley Wesson, whom he regarded as his greatest accomplishment and purpose. Friends and family describe Wayde as loyal, humorous, and strong-willed, someone who carried love and care for his family in every aspect of his life.
Wayde is survived by his son, Oakley; Oakley’s mother and special friend, Evie Vincent; his mother, Laura Bannick (fiancé, Langston Jackson); father, Darren (Heidi) Siebert; step-father, Shawn (Sarah) Bannick; brothers Dylan Niemeyer and Blayne Siebert; sisters Paige Niemeyer, Allyson Siebert, Bailey Notzke, and Corri Boehm; as well as aunts, uncles, and grandparents who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his infant brother, Ely Joseph Devore, and grandfather, Gaylord Bannick Jr.
Funeral services for Wayde Garrett Siebert will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at 11:00 am at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham, with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Monday, April 6, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. The family has also established a memorial fund to support his son Oakley, allowing friends and community members to honor Wayde’s memory through contributions.
