His passing follows a courageous and determined battle with brain cancer—a fight he faced with remarkable strength, resilience, and an unyielding spirit.

Dale lived his life with a rare and inspiring energy. Known for his signature smile, vibrant personality, and “shaka” spirit, he approached every challenge and every joy with the same steadfast determination. Even in the face of illness, he remained committed to making the most of every moment—always seeking one more adventure, one more journey, one more day by the ocean he loved so deeply.

As the owner-operator of The Mermaid Room and The Pirate Room, Dale was a cherished member of the Folly Beach community. His warmth and generosity created spaces where friendships flourished and memories were made.
