The community of Princes Town is reeling from the tragic and violent loss of Monifer Carrie, a 27-year-old woman whose life was cut short in a targeted overnight shooting that has left residents shaken and searching for answers. According to police reports, the incident occurred shortly after midnight along Malgretoute Road. Carrie was traveling as a passenger in a white Nissan Sentra driven by Isaiah Cruickshank, also known as “Touchy,” when their vehicle was intercepted. Investigators state that another vehicle emerged from Manahambre Branch Road, blocking their path in what appears to have been a coordinated ambush.
Two armed men reportedly exited the vehicle and opened fire, discharging multiple rounds into the car before fleeing the scene. The sudden and violent nature of the attack has left both authorities and residents deeply concerned. A relative who arrived at the scene shortly after discovered Carrie lying on the roadway.
Emergency responders quickly transported both victims to the Princes Town Health Facility. Despite efforts to save her, Monifer Carrie was pronounced dead at approximately 12:36 a.m. Cruickshank, who sustained multiple gunshot wounds, was later transferred to San Fernando General Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
As investigators from the Homicide Bureau of Investigations, Region Three, continue their inquiries, no arrests have yet been made, and the motive behind the attack remains unclear.
