EL PASO, Texas — A woman has died following a violent early morning crash after her vehicle struck the rear of a trailer in West El Paso, according to authorities.

The crash occurred at approximately 6:36 a.m. on April 30, 2026, in the 900 block of Artcraft Road. The El Paso Police Department’s Special Traffic Investigation Unit responded to the scene.
Investigators say a 2015 Nissan Sentra, driven by 23-year-old Brissa Celestte Rodriguez of New Mexico, was traveling at a high rate of speed when it rear-ended a 2020 Landoll trailer. The impact caused the front end of the vehicle to become wedged beneath the trailer.
Rodriguez, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The trailer was associated with 42-year-old Arturo Gonzalez of El Paso, Texas, identified as the resident connected to the vehicle involved.
Authorities say speed and failure to stop are believed to be contributing factors in the crash. No additional injuries were reported.
This marks the 19th traffic fatality of 2026, compared to 21 at the same time last year, as officials continue to investigate roadway safety trends in the area.
The El Paso Police Department’s investigation remains ongoing.
