With heavy hearts and profound sorrow, the Fayetteville community is mourning the tragic loss of 16-year-old Karmari Harrison, who was fatally shot early Saturday morning on Fox Ridge Drive.

According to the Fayetteville Police Department, officers responded at approximately 12:20 a.m. on Saturday to reports of a shooting in the area. When officers arrived on scene, they located Karmari Harrison suffering from a gunshot wound.
Emergency medical personnel rendered aid and transported her to Cape Fear Valley Hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased.
