Gaffney, S.C. — The Gaffney community is mourning the tragic loss of Hayley Smith, 30, who was killed in a single-vehicle crash in northern Spartanburg County on Wednesday morning, April 8, 2026.
According to the Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office, Smith was transported by EMS from the intersection of Jones Road and Highway 221 to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead at 6:01 a.m. A forensic examination was conducted as part of the ongoing investigation.
Hayley Smith is remembered by family, friends, and the community as a kind, caring, and compassionate individual. Her sudden and violent death has left a deep void in the lives of all who knew her.
