RICHTON, Miss. — The Richton community is grieving the tragic loss of Bobby L. Wiggers, 19, who was killed in a devastating crash Monday morning in Perry County.
According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol, the collision occurred around 6:30 a.m. on Highway 15 and involved a Dodge pickup truck and a semi-truck. Troopers said the pickup was traveling southbound when it collided with the semi.
Emergency crews responded to the scene, but Wiggers, the driver of the pickup, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the semi-truck was not injured.
The sudden loss of Wiggers has left family, friends, and loved ones heartbroken, as a young life full of promise was taken far too soon. The tragedy has deeply impacted the Richton area, with many struggling to process the loss of someone so young.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash as officials work to determine what led to the fatal collision.
